SPEED limits on Wirral's roads?
Don't make me laugh; it is a free for all out there.
Early morning on Storeton Road and Mount Road in Prenton and cars and vans are doing 50mph plus where the limit is 30.
Prenton Hall Road has 20mph signage. This is totally disregarded, with vehicles travelling at 45mph and plus that.
Waterpark Road is designated as 20mph - again totally disregarded, more like 45-50mph.
Anybody who lives on these roads who likes watching motor racing has no need to, for the racing is outside their front window - all sorts of vehicles, shapes, sizes, colours and types are whizzing past.
The racing will continue until an old person or child is killed trying to cross the road. When death occurs, there is plenty of hand-wringing for a while - 'something must be done' - and then the racing resumes.
The lack of prosecutions gives serious cause for concern. Un-marked police cars ought to be booking errant drivers by the hundreds every day.
These covert officers should be taking wheel-barrows full of prosecution notices into the chief constable's office every week.
Un-marked police cars should be used in the 20mph zones to ensnare tail-gaters.
People are being killed on the roads and it will continue until bad driving is illuminated.
