DEAR homeowners / landlords with gardens, before you hire someone to cut down healthy established trees in your garden, take a step back and try to comprehend the huge consequence of your actions.
It's not all about you!
Unless a tree is dead or badly diseased or proven to be causing structural detriment to a building then there is zero reason to fell it - to do so borders on environmental crime.
Your garden and the wider area is hugely dependent on those trees. You may not care or notice but the entire surroundings desperately needs those trees, not just for visual impact, not just for wildlife, but the air quality, preventing your garden from flooding, overheating and noise reduction.
So, instead of hiring someone to chop them down, find a reputable caring tree surgeon who will recommend reducing, shaping, tidying the tree so it can be kept in place to benefit the surroundings, but be more manageable or pleasing (also cheaper outlay for you and gives them more future income in tree maintenance).
No legit tree surgeon worth their salt should just remove established healthy trees without a genuine valid reason.
It should be their absolute last resort (you just wanting it done does not qualify). I implore you to think beyond yourself.
Compromise is your friend ... and so are the trees.
Alex, Wallasey
