AT this moment, the organisation Transport for London is carrying out investigations into a series of fires involving electric and hybrid buses.
There have been a series of similar fires involving electric/hybrid vehicles which have given rise to substantial public concern.
Electric buses have been withdrawn from school runs in London as one of the fires was a bus on a school run.
From a local, Wirral, viewpoint we have a fleet of hybrid buses running Wirral to Liverpool via the Mersey tunnels.
In view of the present situation and the degree of public concern, can we request information from the Mersey Tunnel authorities on the level of risk assessment that has, or will be, carried out relating to electric vehicle transits through the tunnels?
