I refer to not only the introduction of additional car parking charges, but also the increase in parking charges at our local hospitals.
I have just had to take an old friend / neighbour to an urgent appointment at Arrowe Park Hospital. I was astounded to find that the old car park which I refer to as being to the back left of the hospital now charges for parking, it used to be free.
But it gets worse!
When I went to pay there was a very long queue down the corridor at the pay machine, so it took ages.
They have not bothered to provide extra ticket / payment machines, yet they will have known there will be an increase in people needing to "Pay to be ill" as someone wrote in the Globe this past week.
But it's probably deliberate, so that some will go over into the next payment time scale meaning these heartless hospital managers gain even more of our hard earned money.
I am a pensioner, worked hard and paid my taxes all my life, I consider myself not poor but certainly not rich and have to count the penneys, particularly as i'm on a basic pension, and in doing someone a good deed has cost me dearly.
I hope the highly paid management of Wirral Hospitals feel satisfied with their achievement. They should be ashamed with themselves.
