I am writing in objection to the demolition of The Queens Hotel, New Brighton, built in 1850.
It is beautiful, full of character and really adds to the seafront and reminds you of the local Victorian heritage when workingclass people first holidayed there from Liverpool.
The hotel being demolished and replaced with a characterless and soulless glass building that already looks outdated is a travesty.
There is an empty lot right next door, that has been empty and an eyesore for years, where something like this glass building could be built without knocking down anymore heritage buildings.
Save the Victorian buildings in New Brighton’s Victoria Quarter!
Search APP/20/00780 on the Council planning website and object to the destruction of our collective heritage.
