A WIRRAL Grammar Sixth Form student has proven his racing prowess after reaching the final of a prestigious competition.

Nathan Williams, 17, of Bebington, made the final of the BRSCC Fiesta Junior Scholarship at Blyton Park race track.

The BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship is the fastest growing UK junior racing series and gives talented young drivers the chance win a prize package worth over £65k.

Competing over three days against a field of 60 hopefuls, including seasoned karting racers and drivers from established motorsport families, Nathan impressed judges with his skills and ultimately secured a place in the final six.

Nathan's journey to the national stage began in the virtual world, where he has already tasted success in winning a number of online sim racing series including PASR Ginetta Juniors and OT Coupe Cup.

This experience clearly translated to the real-world challenge, as he navigated a series of eliminations to reach the final round judged by a panel including British Touring Car drivers and an ITV commentator.

While Nathan didn't secure the ultimate prize of a full year in a Fiesta Junior team his performance earned him valuable funding for future races.

Having recently gained his racing driving license he is now focused on competing in real-world events next year with a confirmed drive in the OT Coupe Cup series with races scheduled across the country including Brands Hatch, Donnington and Oulton Park.

Nathan welcomes any sponsorship opportunities to support his ambitions with more information available from instagram.com/nathan_williams.32
