SALE Sharks scored six tries as Caldy lost 40-7 on their first ever visit to the Salford Community Stadium on Friday night.

Sale Academy graduate Obe Ene scored four tries in the fist half to secure the five points.

The first try came down the right wing when Reuben Birch and Gus Warr combined to scramble the Caldy defence and allow Ene to run into the corner to score.

Caldy found it difficult to keep up with Ene's pace and the next two tries were similar to each other after great phases of play which ended with the winger strolling across the line to score.

The third quarter was a lot slower pace with players from both sides seeing yellow and being sent to the sin bin.

It also gave the Wirral side the opportunity to have a foothold in the game but this was short lived as with both sides back up to full strength, Sale were able to take charge once again with some cross field kicking allowing Alex Willis in to score.

Former Caldy loanee Ruben Birch went over in the closing minutes to complete the scoring.

A penalty try was small reward for the effort that Caldy put in against the North West's top team.

Another rest weekend is coming this week with a trip to fellow Championship side Doncaster Knights in two weeks.
