Callum Hodgkinson bagged the game’s only goal as Marshalls came away with all three points from their trip to Runcorn Sports while Kenyatta Mwaliteta scored for Helsby for the third game on the trot and was joined on the scoresheet by George Walters in a 2-1 victory at Aintree Villa who replied via Ben Hamlet.
Harvey Simpson obliged from Vauxhall Motors Res., but it was the visitors, South Liverpool Res. who profited, Yusuf Moshin (2) and Kai Henning inspiring a 3-1 triumph.

Second placed Mallaby, inspired by a Derek Taylor double and supported by further efforts from Billy Rainbow and Ellis Platt maintained interest, after winning 4-2 at Helsby Res., who hit back via Adam Harding and Matty Holliday while Maghull Res., stayed firmly in contention for promotion, when efforts from Oscar Jones, Ashton McQuaide and a brace of own goals steered them to a 4-1 decision over South Sefton Borough. Jack McNeight was Borough’s marksman.
A goal from Brendan Dickinson failed to prevent Chester Nomads Res. from losing 3-1 at home to Higher Bebington Kelma, and it was a similar tale of woe for Hooton, whom scored through Joel Whalley but went down 2-1 to goals from Mossley Hill Ath.U23s Asher Duncan and former Runcorn Sports forward, Kier Fenlon.
Top scorers were fifth placed challengers, Neston Nomads, who put Runcorn Sports Res., to the sword in ruthless fashion. An Ollie Dutton hat-trick was supplemented by further efforts from Will Sara-Kelly (2), Si Pattinson and Cam Meadows in Saturday’s 8-0 romp.
Congratulations to Division Two club Cammell Laird 1907 Reserves, who now join Chester Nomads, Helsby, Mallaby and West Kirby in the last 16 of the Cheshire County FA Amateur Cup following an excellent 5-2 result at Altrincham FC Res., but it was a day to forget for Aintree Villa Res., who were beaten 7-0 by South Liverpool 3rds in the LCFA Junior Cup first round.
In Division Three, Neston Nomads U23s found the net through Alex Butterworth but spurned the opportunity to take over at the top, after they were eclipsed by replies from third placed Sutton Rangers’ Alex Morgan and Shakeel as Sutton drew level on points with Nomads with both clubs a point adrift of current pacesetters, Christleton.
Jack Gordon struck twice and was joined on the scoresheet by Teddy Galer as Cammell Laird 1907 U23’s overcame Maghull 3-0 and also in free scoring vein, were Sefton Park Rangers who savoured a 4-0 win over Shaftesbury with goals from Ben Anderson, Rhys Owens, Ryan Goodband and Bradley O’Brien.
Alex Wilkinson and Joe Humphries netted for Willaston but it was the visitors, AFC Knowsley U23’s who had the last laugh, Robbie Abelwhite(2) and Rowan Cook scoring in a 3-2 victory and it was deja vu for Capenhurst Villa Res., who had Aiden Hill on target only to lose 2-1 to goals from Rainhill Town Res.’ Reece Timmins and Tom Phenna.
Elsewhere, Ben Sweeney plundered both goals for Ellesmere Port Town U23’s in their 2-1 success at Heswall U23’s whose goal scorer was Dean Torto.
Saturday’s Youth Division action saw Helsby in commanding form against West Kirby Utd. Efforts from Liam Warman (3), Jackson Abraham, James Heraty, William Hodgson and an own goal set up a 7-2 win. Charlie Scott and Oscar Wilkinson hit the target for the visitors.
Josh French and Dan Martins netted for AFC Knowsley but ended on the losing side after Mossley Hill Ath., sealed the issue, thanks to goals from Bailey Dawson, Ethan Cain and Ryan Fitzgerald.
Youth Division leaders, Athletico Blues scored through Alex Callister and James Hunt but came a cropper in the Arthur Green Youth Cup first round who saw they suffered a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Pilkington saw the game to its conclusion with Kieran Taylor and Cayden Shilton bagging two apiece.
