TRANMERE head south again this weekend to take on Bromley hoping that they can spark a revival against one of League Two's out-of-form sides.

Bromley have drawn their last three games but are winless in ten games in all competitions and although Tranmere's 2-0 defeat to Bradford last time out made it just one win in their last seven games, The Bears have won just one of their five home league games this season.

"We lost the last game so we need to rectify that although the performance was good," said Rovers boss Nigel Adkins. "It will be a totally different game to MK Dons our previous away game and that's the beauty of this division - there are different ways to play football and different styles and different formations.

"We have to score more goals and have more attempts at goal and we are working on the training ground to address that.

"If you look at the MK Dons game they will keep the ball but we had the ball just as much as them if not more but Bromley probably won't have so much of the ball but they are a big, direct side and we have to deal with that."

With just five goals scored in ten games it is obvious to see where Rovers' weakness has been so fa this season.

"Up until the international break we were in good form," said Adkins. "We had a good start to the season but the break changed our momentum.

"There were many good things we did against Bradford but we lost the game but the players are working their socks off and physically we are competing.

"When we break it down we are eliminating a lot of what the opposition are doing and what they are good at but we have to score more goals."

Adkins hinted that he may have to use more of his squad players in the coming weeks as the games increase.

"Ideally you want the same team every week and we've been very good at defending deep, intercepting and then counter attack but I'd like us to be in a position where we don't have to do that all the time," he said.

"Can we be more evolved where we have longer spells with the ball? When I look at the game at the weekend it will be very physical and combative so afterwards the squad will be utilised."

Rovers have been drawn to face former Tranmere manager Micky Mellon's Oldham Athletic, of the National League, in the first round of the FA Cup with the tie also having significance for a number of Latics players and staff, with several of Mellon's backroom team working with him at Prenton Park.

"It's a fantastic tie," added Adkins. "They've got a great manager and old players and staff coming back to the club.

"But it's not a banana skin - they're in the National League and doing really well - they're full time so they're not non-league and they probably have a bigger budget than us so let's put that into context.

"But it's a great game and I'm hoping it will be on a Friday night under the lights and it will be fantastic with a great atmosphere and we want to do well in the FA Cup but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it."
