TRANMERE are back in action this weekend as they head south to Stadium MK to take on MK Dons.
The Dons will be looking to achieve back-to-back wins in the league for the first time this season and will be full of confidence after beating Harrogate 5-1.
Rovers, meanwhile, are now winless in four games, with two successive home draws, seeing Nigel Adkins' side slump to 17th in the table.
"We started the game brightly," said Adkins, reflecting on Tuesday's 1-1 stalemate with Swindon Town.
"With our defensive, aggressive press we stopped them playing out and I was speaking to their manager after the game and he was really frustrated that we've denied them so much.
"The first half was very good and in the second half it's an absolute fluke goal that makes the game level and it was unfortunate.
"In the last 20 minutes it became a basketball game and unfortunately for us we didn't get the winning goal and we could've won the last two games."
Tranmere are currently the lowest scorers in League Two with just four goals in eight games but Adkins sees the return of Christian Dennis, who scored against Swindon, to the line up as a major bonus going forward.
"It was great that he scored on Tuesday," said Adkins. "When you've gone a period of time when you haven't scored there's obviously going to be questions but we're working had on the training ground and we're practicing scoring every day.
"When we look at the data from the other night we put the ball into good areas of the pitch and now we have to make sure we are ruthless enough to put the ball in the back of the net.
"Christian is brilliant - to be out for so long and to keep having that mentality to train really hard every day. He keeps his chin and keeps working hard because he respects his teammates.
"We have some really good strikers at this football club and sometimes you're judged on scoring goals but it's also about what else you can bring to the team and Christian does really, really well for the football club."
Despite Tranmere's position in the league, Adkins is still keeping positive about their chances despite growing disquiet from the supporters.
He said: "Listen, we've lost two games this season and I think we should have won both of them.
"It's fine margins and I know we're on the right track and I'm really pleased that we've got players who are starting to come back.
"We have a good squad of players and it's about keeping our nerve - there are a lot of games to go.
"We need clarity and understanding but we've got a good group of players and we're all wating to do well and are working hard.
"Over the course of the season I know it will sort itself out and I have every confidence in the players we've got."
As for the opposition on Saturday, Adkins is expecting a tough game against a side full of confidence.
He added: "Every game is a challenge in this division for different reasons.
"A new manager has gone in there and they'll want to keep possession of the ball and they're a very possession-based side and a very good footballing side so our defensive resolve has to be right.
"We have to get the ball off them and then we have to be very good and effective when we've got the football.
"We have to evolve to be better with the football ourselves but we know we can stand toe to toe in battle and we know we can sit and then counter attack but can we better at having the football for longer spells in the attacking third of the pitch."
