THE penultimate week of the Liverpool Competition saw Wallasey slip down to fifth in the Premier League following a thee wicket defeat to Formby.
Wallasey's 119 all out always looked a low total and the visitors reached the total despite some determined bowling from James Ashcroft (3-38) and Greg Beaver (3-32).
Birkenhead Park did not get in the way of Ormskirk's title celebrations after the champions elect made 190 all out at Brook Lane before Park were skittled for 43. Park now need a home win over Wallasey on Saturday to secure safety, while S&B have to beat New Brighton and hope for a favour.
Already relegated New Brighton were dismissed for 87 by Northern who cantered to a 10 wicket win.
In Division Two, Caldy won a vital game in their promotion race with Sutton after an extraordinary spell from Piushan Gamekankanamge saw him take 6-27 and Sutton lose their last eight wickets for just 22 runs chasing Caldy's 129 all out.
Parkfield Liscard's Jehan Yahathugoda took 6-44 as Prestatyn were bowled out for 147 at Pembertons Meadow but the hosts could only make 97 in reply.
