NESTON'S hopes of beating the drop from the Cheshire County Premier League took a blow as they lost to fellow Wirral side Oxton by seven wickets.
The hosts were bowled out for 175 with Harry Dearden taking 5-28 before he hit 70 to seal the win with a true man-of-the-match performance.
Another Wirral derby saw the top two sides in Division Two meet with leaders Maritime getting the better of Port Sunlight. Thisal Jayawardana (4-12) and Vishal Barigela (3-13) helped dismiss Port for just 77 before the batters wrapped up an eight wicket win.
Upton are close to sealing the Division Three title following a 92 run win over Winnington Park. Chris McArthur hit 50 as Upton posted 248-7 before Dave Williams took 7-18 to confirm the victory.
