BIRKENHEAD Park are celebrating after winning this year's Liverpool Echo Knockout Cup.

In the finals day held at Formby on Sunday, Park saw off the hosts in the semi final after reaching 122-8 off their 20 overs. Malinda Pushpakumara (3-4) and Andrew Clarke (3-2) then helped dismiss Formby for 73. 

Park faced Rainford in the final after they beat Chester Broughton Hall in their semi and Steve Hird's side produced a brilliant batting performance to reach 230-1 with half-centuries for Alex Harris (72no), Mark Rowland (77) and Clarke (66no). Alex Baker (4-30) and Rowland (3-24) wrapped up a 94 run win as Park too the trophy back to Wirral.

In the Premier League, Park remain in relegation trouble after drawing at home with Newton le Willows. Clarke (52) top scored as the hosts reached 178 all out but they were unable to bowl the visitors out after they closed on 147-6. Pushpakumara took 5-49.  

Bottom side New Brighton's Damitha Silva (6-54) and Elliot Griffiths (4-71) dismissed Rainford for 189 before the Rakers' reply fell 11 runs short despite Thomas Anders's battling 52. 

Wallasey travelled to Trafalgar Road to take on Southport and Birkdale who were bowled out for 162 thanks to Sumit Ruikar (7-70) and Andrew Beaver (3-60). Ruikar then hit 70 to seal a four wicket win. 

Caldy are battling for promotion from Division Two after beating Whitefield. Amruth Devaraj (62) and Harry Beddard (54no) took Caldy to 226-7 before Umega Chaturanga (4-46), Mohammad Rafi (3-37) and Asiri Gamage (3-43) clinched a 23 run win. 

Southport Trinity declared on 261-4 against Parkfield Liscard who left The Rookery with a creditable draw after recovering from 16-4 to reach 180-8. Nadeera Rupasinghe hit 56.
