ASHVILLE FC have added to their ranks once again with the signing of defender, Joel Porter.
The 17-year-old joins the club after spells at AFC Liverpool, 7 Elite Academy and Blackpool FC.
The teenager has already featured for Villa in pre-season, impressing in both of his appearances so far.
Porter is another summer signing who has experienced silverware at a
young age, being a treble winner with Merseyside Schoolboys.
He said: “The gaffer got in touch and asked me to come down and try out in pre-season and I was never going to say no.
"Being given an opportunity from the manager at such a young age to play at this level and having the belief from Scotty that that I can play at this level, it was a no brainer.
"Having that belief from your manager at such a young age, I couldn’t sign quick enough.
"There’s a great atmosphere between the lads, all the staff are very welcoming, it’s a very good standard of football and all the lads are willing to work hard for each other. It’s the perfect fit for me”.
Porter has only played away from Ray Parker Stadium so far but is looking forward to playing in front of his new fans at home for the first time.
He added: “I’m really looking forward to putting on the Ashville shirt as an official Ashville player and playing in front of the Villa faithful and putting my all in, week in and week out. Let’s go win some trophies together. Up the Villa!”.
