ASHVILLE FC have confirmed two new signings as manager Ste Scott continues his preparations for the new season.

Junior Sikahowla, 23, has joined the club after coming through the Robbie Fowler Academy before spells with Daten FC, St Helens Town, Marine Under 23’s and Litherland Remyca Reserves.

The versatile South African-born player can play on either wing as well as in the midfield.

Sikahowla has been training with Ashville since the beginning of pre-season and has nothing but positive things to say about his new club.

He said:  “My first impressions of Ashville is it’s a very good club with great players who work hard and the coaching staff pushing us to be better. I really love the environment and atmosphere”.

The opportunity to play first team football at counties level was also a big appeal.

He said: “What attracted me to Ashville in the first place was the level, it’s a step up for me. I want to push myself and improve my skills to make a mark in this league.

“I’m glad to be on board this season and my goal is to help the team win the league. I can’t wait to play in front of the great fans of Ashville”.

Scott has also added 18-year-old midfielder Lucas Gorman  for the 2024/2025 season.

Gorman has previously spent time at River Juniors and at reigning Welsh champions, TNS, before a stint with fellow NWCFL side South Liverpool.

A former World Schools Cup champion with Everton Football College, Gorman is certainly no stranger to success and he’s looking to add to his already impressive CV with Ashville.

He said:  “I can’t wait to get started and play for Ashville this season and looking forward to helping the lads on achieving our main objectives this season which is to go up and give our all for the fans”.
The teenager from Garston said it was Scott’s ambition and the quality of the current squad which ultimately made up his mind about joining Ashville.

Gorman said: “It’s a good standard of footy and the enthusiasm and openness of Ste to talk to me about the targets and goals for the lads and how that aligns with what I want to do this season”.

Gorman has been training with the squad since the start of pre-season and so far he has been very impressed with what he’s seen from his new teammates and the reception he’s received from everyone at the club: “Boss group of lads who have welcomed me from day dot and have a really positive, winning mentality and all the lads are hungry to achieve great things this season”.
