TRANMERE Rovers have confirmed the signing of 19-year-old midfielder Josh Williams on a two-year contract.

The Welshman joins until the end of June 2026 and adds another option in the middle of the park following the acquisition of Sam Finley.

Williams arrives after his departure from Connah’s Quay, where he made 69 senior appearances including two Europa League qualifiers.

The promising youngster has also represented his country at Wales C level, earning two caps.

Manager Nigel Adkins said: “Josh joins us having impressed in the Welsh League. This will be a big step up into full-time football for the midfield player however we believe he has the potential to keep improving over time.”

On signing for Tranmere, Williams, said: “I’m buzzing, I can’t wait to get going. I met the manager last week, and after that my mind was made up, I just couldn’t wait to sign."
