TRANMERE Rovers have confirmed the signing of striker Josh Davison on a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee from AFC Wimbledon.
The 24-year-old is already an experienced frontman, having made 223 career appearances to date and scored 66 goals, eight of those coming last term with The Dons.
Davison started his career at Peterborough United, before a three-year spell with Charlton Athletic where he first played under current Rovers boss Nigel Adkins and made appearances in the Championship and League One.
He also spent time on loan with Forest Green Rovers and Swindon Town before joining AFC Wimbledon in July 2022.
The forward mainly operates centrally, but also represented The Dons on both wings last term.
On signing for Tranmere, Davison said: “I’m excited to be here and it’s looking good for the season ahead.
“I can’t wait. I’ve played on some noisy nights at Prenton Park so I’m excited.
“I’ve played some of my best football under the gaffer when I was at Charlton and he always made me feel confident when I was playing, so I’m looking forward to that again.”
Adkins said: “Josh provides another attacking dynamic to the team and we are delighted he has joined us.
“Having managed the hard-working striker before, I’m really looking forward to seeing him in a Tranmere Rovers shirt and continuing to develop his potential.”
