THE much-anticipated Bank Holiday 'Wirral derby' between Wallasey and New Brighton ended in humiliation for the Rakers after they were bowled out for just 22 - the lowest Liverpool Competition Premier Division total in the three-division era.
Five wickets each for Sumit Ruikar and Matthew Keogh did the damage as the New Brighton lasted just 86 balls before Wallasey completed an eight wicket win.
On Saturday, it was also bad news for Birkenhead Park, who fell to a fifth successive defeat at Rainford, despite the introduction of Sri Lankan Test spinner Malinda Pushpakumara, who took 3-33 as the hosts were dismissed for 119. Alex Harris chipped in with 3-40 but Park's batting was not up to the task as they were dismissed for 103.
In Division Two, Caldy's Umega Chaturanga claimed 8-46 as Wavertree were bowled out for 123. Chaturanga's unbeaten 31 then proved crucial as the hosts got over the line with two wickets to spare.
The game between Parkfield Liscard and Ainsdale fell victim to the weather.
