THE irrepressible Sumit Ruikar was the bowling hero yet again for Wallasey, taking 7-60 from his 28.1 overs as Rainford were dismissed for 156 in the second week of fixtures in the Love Lane Liverpool Competition Premier Division.
Ruikar then hit 46 as the hosts made 100-8 in reply in a hard-fought draw as Wallasey remain unbeaten.
New Brighton suffered an early season nightmare at Rake Lane against Leigh as they were bowled out for just 39. The visitors completed a seven wicket win in the ninth over of their reply.
Birkenhead Park were also on the wrong end of a heavy defeat after watching Wigan make 227-8 declared. The hosts could only make 74 all out in reply.
Caldy won their first game of the season back in Division Two after they over came Wirral rivals Parkfield Liscard. Adam Brown took 5-52 with Mohammad Rafi chipping in with 3-34 as the visitors were dismissed for 163. Brown completed a brilliant game with an unbeaten 60 to steer his side to a three wicket win.
