WITH the League Two season concluding for Tranmere on Saturday with a 4-1 defeat at Accrington Stanley, Rovers have announced their retained list confirming which players will be staying or leaving Prenton Park.
The following players remain in contract for the 2024/25 campaign: Luke McGee, Joe Murphy, Lee O'Connor, Tom Davies, Connor Wood, Brad Walker, Regan Hendry, Josh Hawkes, Kieron Morris, Harvey Saunders, Sam Taylor, Kristian Dennis and Connor Jennings.
Jordan Turnbull's contract has been extended by a year after the defender met a contractual stipulation and Rovers has activated its option to retain Chris Merrie for another season.
Rovers have confirmed they are in discussions with Luke Norris regarding a new contract.
The biggest blow to Rovers will be the confirmation that Rob Apter will return to his parent club Blackpool following an outstanding loan season during which he was named League Two Young Player of the Season at the EFL Awards 2024.
James Norris will return to Liverpool with Jake Leake returning to Hull City.
The following players will depart Prenton Park following the end of their contract: Jean Belehouan, Mikey Davies, Ben Hockenhull, Rhys Hughes, Charlie Jolley, Ousmane Kane, Luis Lacey, Paul Lewis, Reece McAlear, Dan Pike, Conor Robson, Joe Starbuck and Joe Yarney.
Tranmere manager, Nigel Adkins, said: “I’d like to thank all those players who are leaving us and wish them the best of luck for the future.
“We’ve got a group of players we know can do well in this division next season already on board but with scope to bring nine to ten players in over the summer as well to get to the group of 25 that I’m looking for. That takes time but we’re in a good position to start off and there’s vision to bring some good players in who will help boost the squad.”
