CAMMELL Laird 1907 FC Reserves moved closer to the West Cheshire League Third Division title with an emphatic 6-0 defeat of Capenhurst Villa reserves.

Their victory followed a 3-1 success over FC Kirkby in the Third Division Shield competition last week.

Dominating long periods of the fixture they had Luke Burns in fine form for his man of the match display, as he helped Kieran Hughes to rifle a fine hat-trick, along with Adam Larway, who fired home a double, and Lewi Howard notching single as they overpowered their opponents.

They now require just a few more points to seal the title for managers John Leasor, Danny Wilson and club secretary Toddy Wood who is the mainstay of the club.

The 1st team complete their season on Wednesday, April 24 in the Wirral District FA Senior Cup Final.

They play Capenhurst Villa at the KRCT Stadium with a 7.30pm kick off.
