CALDY lost their latest Championship match 7-31 as Hartpury arrived in Wirral with a number of Gloucester and Bristol players in their matchday squad.
For the 30 minutes, the game was extremely tight, with the visitor's scoring their opening try in the 18th minute after Caldy were caught napping in the corner and Robbie Smith slid in the corner.
It was from then on that the visitors took control of the match with two further tries before half time from Jono Benz-Solomon and Tommy Matthews.
Five minutes into the second half and it looked like the comeback was on when Nick Royle slid in for his fifth of the season after a great move.
As the wind got worse, the game got scrappy, with both sides unable to get into any flow, the visitors managed to break through in the 55th minute which secured the bonus point for the Gloucester outfit.
Caldy's day got worse as Michael Barlow was sent to the sin bin with 15 minutes to go before Mike Austin went over in the final few minutes of the game to round off the scoring.
Caldy have a trip next weekend to newly promoted Cambridge. The Ravers have a winning record against their opponents in the lower leagues.
