A WIRRAL gymnast was invited to the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards after her recent success in trampolining.
Beth Williamson was invited to attend the awards on Tuesday, December 19 after excelling her sport of double mini-trampoline.
Footballer Mary Earps was crowned BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2023 in front of a star-studded audience.
Stuart Broad came second and Katarina Johnson-Thompson took third place for the prestigious award.
Beth, 24, recently travelled to Birmingham to compete in the Senior Ladies DMT World Trampoline Championships on November 10.
This was Beth’s sixth consecutive World Championships for Great Britain.
Beth, who trains at Birkenhead Trampoline Club, walked away as World Champion with her team.
This is the first time Team GBR has ever been crowned world champion in DMT so it was a huge achievement.
Beth said: "Being invited to SPOTY was a great way to end such a successful year.
"It was amazing to be surrounded by so many sporting greats to celebrate the hard work and dedication put into elite sport."
Beth's coach Sarah Madge added: "It is lovely to see Beth and the team celebrating their success at such a great event.
"They all deserve it so much after the countless years of dedication they have put into the sport.
"Everyone at Birkenhead Trampoline Club is incredibly proud of her."
