WIRRAL schoolgirl Letitia McKee has won a silver medal at the European Schools Boxing Championships.
The 13-year-old, who is a student at St John Plessington Catholic College in Bebington and boxes out of the Birkenhead Venture Boxing Club, qualified for the tournament in Maribor, Slovenia, after winning the England Boxing National Schools Title.
Letitia beat two boxers from Ireland in the 51kg category before getting past Italian Carol Gurciullo in the semi-final.
A bout against Ukraine’s Anhelina Rumiantseva saw her lose the decision 4:1.
Venture head coach Sean Trodden said: “We are all extremely proud of Letitia as she has worked tirelessly for years now.”
