THIS Summer, McDonald’s is running a special wave of 'Summer Fun' football sessions in the hometowns of the Lionesses, including Wirral's Niamh Charles.

The 32 locations across England will give children inspired by the Lionesses at this year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 the chance to start their own football journey.

Since its re-launch, the Fun Football programme has "continued to inspire more girls and boys than ever" to take up the sport, with a total of 250,000 children taking part since August 2022.

The programme also saw a 60% increase in girls signing up following last summer’s performance by the Lionesses.

To meet popular demand, McDonald’s has added additional locations this Summer to ensure more children than ever before have the opportunity to play. Over 4,600 hours of Free Fun Football will be made available across more than 58 centres across England.
