WIRRAL have dropped into the relegation zone of Division One in the Cheshire Cricket League after a 38 run defeat at Weaverham.
Jack Cureton (4-35) and Faizan Abid (3-30) restricted the hosts to 198 all out with Wirral falling short despite skipper David Lewis' knock of 71.
Old Parkonians made 179-9 against Langley with Chris Beckett then taking extraordinary figures of 1-4 off six overs to wrap up a 76 run win. Daniel Berkson (4-25) also bowled well.
In Division Three, Burton dismissed Heaton Mersey Village for 183 with the target prooving too much in a 54 run defeat.
Tranmere Victoria suffered a narrow defeat to Offerton who made 211-9 off their 45 overs. Andrew Wood (3-26) was the pick of the bowlers. Opener Mark O'Brian hit 49, but Vics were 200-8 at the close.
