Jay Spearing has been cleared to play against League Two table toppers Forest Green Rovers on Saturday, after his three-match suspension was overturned today.
The former Liverpool midfielder was shown a straight red card by referee Sam Purkiss on Saturday against Salford City at Prenton park, after a hard challenge shortly before half time.
But after an appeal was lodged by Rovers, the Independent Regulatory Commission ruled in the club's favour.
As a result, the automatic three-match ban bestowed on Spearing for a straight red card has been rescinded and he is free to play.
Tranmere currently lie 11th in League Two and travel to the Cotswolds on Saturday looking for their first away win of the season.
They head to the New Lawn after putting in a much-improved attacking performance against Salford on Saturday, which yielded a 2-0 win, courtesy of a penalty from Kieron Morris and a first professional league goal for Elliot Nevitt.
