IN their latest Federation match on Sunday Wallasey took on Division one leaders Leeds 'A' and, despite both the home and away matches being very close, lost both and therefore the overall match result.
On the lightening fast away green at Castleford Town Bowling green the team had six winners and lost by 13 points.
At home they had five winners and lost, agonizingly, by just two points.
In the home match both Paul Saville and Matthew Gilmore had brilliant 21-09 wins while in the away leg Lynsey Gorman, Marc Dougherty and Josh Bunting all had fairly comfortable victories.
Though both results were close the points system meant that overall the score was a 21-11 win for Leeds.
Wallasey play their final game in August against Barnsley and will be hoping for a change in their fortunes.
In the Isle of Man Bowls Festival which took place last week Tixall's Phil Lee reached the quarter finals of the main tournament where he was narrowly beaten 21-20.
In the Tourism Tournament Lee managed to go one better and get through to the semi finals while Tixall's Robbie Fitzpatrick lost in his quarter final match.
