THE greens were a little heavy, due to overnight rain, but it was a pleasant sunny morning in Birkenhead Park for this week's Flyers Tournament.
Tixall's Jamie Fitzpatrick beat Hoylake Central's Tommy Walker in the final.
In the quarter finals Fitzpatrick beat New Brighton Quarry Vikings Eddie Dutton, before having an excellent win over Tixalls Anthony O'Neill.
Walker had a comfortable win over Lever’s Colin Portis.
The final was fairly close throughout but when Walker took a 19-15 lead it looked as though he might become the first player to achieve a second win but it wasn't to be and Fitzpatrick came back to clinch the closest of victories.
