Martin Freeman leads the cast of the latest BBC drama The Responder, in which he will play a morally compromised and unconventional urgent response officer on the night shift in Liverpool.
He plays a character called Chris, who takes on new rookie partner Rachel (played by Adelayo Adedayo) and will have to deal with survival in this high pressure nighttime world.
Tony Schumacher wrote all episodes of The Responder, which is his first original series for television.
Speaking on the programme, Martin Freeman said: “Tony Schumacher’s scripts were so unique and honest that I knew very quickly that I wanted to be a part of The Responder and take on the role of Chris.
"No-one writes like Tony and it has been exhilarating inhabiting the world he has created.”
