Deciding what to eat for dinner as you wait for a train at Wallasey Grove Road station has just become a little easier.
Edible Wirral Partnerships have installed various vegetable planters along the station platform as part of the Merseyrail and Merseytravel Station Adoption Scheme.
Passengers and members of the public are free to help themselves to the fresh crop of fruit, vegetables and herbs now coming to fruition.
Bart Schmeink, Merseyrail's Managing Director said: "Stations should be welcoming and attractive.
"Wallasey Grove Road is the latest addition to our growing number of adopted stations and has already been transformed by everyone involved.
"It's a project that the local community can now be proud of and it's great to see so many different people working together for the good of their community"
Edible Wirral Partnership is dedicated to promoting the growing, sourcing and cooking of locally grown food on the Wirral, helping children and people of all ages discover the unique connection between the soil and the food they eat.
