THE historic Neston Ladies Day takes place on Thursday June 2.
Dating from 1814, the Neston Female Society has organised the annual "Ladies Day Walk" on the first Thursday in June, apart from the war years.
The parade will see more than 200 children walking along with the society members to celebrate the day.
The procession is led by two people holding the society's banner, sharing their motto "Bear Ye One Another's Burdens", which is taken from St. Paul's letter to the Galatians.
Brightly-dressed women and girls form the procession starting from the Malt Shovel at 2.30pm, making its way down the High Street to the Parish Church.
In their hands they carry white staves that are garlanded with flowers and ribbons.
Councillor Eleanor Johnson, Chairman of Cheshire West and Chester Council, will attend in her role as Lord Mayor of Chester.
The Mayor of Neston, Councillor Martin Barker, members of the local clergy, and many other local dignitaries will walk in the procession as guests of the Society.
Lord Mayor of Chester, Cllr Johnson, said: "It is an honour to be invited to participate in such an historic event taking place in the picturesque market town of Neston.
"The parade is the highlight of the Neston calendar for both the participants and the audience lining the route."
The Chester Road/Brook Street Car Park will close to public traffic at 6pm on Sunday May 29 as the Ladies Day week fun fair arrives. The car park will re-open at noon on Sunday, June 5.
Alternative parking arrangements have been confirmed during the week; Sainsbury’s will waive the three-hour limit in the multi-storey car park, spaces are available at the British Legion car park in Chester Road, Neston Community and Youth Centre in Burton Road and the Malt Shovel Public House car park in Liverpool Road (except the afternoon of Thursday, June 2, for Ladies Day Walk).
