IN response to John Sage's letter, I'm just staggered by his static, insular attitude.
Here we are on the brink of a huge regeneration of New Brighton and we have this man complaining with his dinosaur attitude!
I could break down many of his complaints but two in particular: How many supermarkets does he think we have in New Brighton?
To the best of my knowledge, there is one major chain and as a resident of the area and a frequent user of this supermarket, I, and every single person I have spoken to, welcomes the option to shop elsewhere without having to travel.
As for his ludicrous comments on a new casino, I can only think he has never frequented one of these modern casinos.
Having previously worked in casinos for many years, it was laughable to read that he believes, crime, drugs and prostitution will follow.
Does he really believe that these huge establishments, having spent millions on building, licensing and furnishings, would allow any of these things to happen?
I think Mr Sage has been watching too many old American B movies with sleazy gambling joints featured!.
Wake up and move on Mr Sage. This redevelopment is the best opportunity New Brighton has had for decades.
John Mira, New Brighton.
