Inquiry underway after body found at Birkenhead
A police inquiry is underway after a 56-year-old man was found dead in the street at Woodchurch Road, Birkenhead.
Officers were called to the scene at around 9pm yesterday when a member of the public discovered the body.
While the deceased has not yet been formally identified, police say they are no longer looking for Noel Sheehy, aged 56, who was last seen by his family at around 6.30am on Thursday and reported as missing at 7pm that evening.
A postmortem examination is to be carried out and police are awaiting results.
A spokesman said inquiries are on-going but the death is not being treated as suspicious.
Next of kin have been informed.
