THE Mayoress of Wirral, Anna McLaughlin, will be among the hundreds taking part in the annual Coastal Walk on Sunday.

Starting at Seacombe Ferry at 10am, it will raise money for the Mayor Cllr Moira McLaughlin's Charity Fund.

Cllr McLaughlin has chosen Age UK Wirral's Devonshire Centre, St John's Hospice and Wirral Women and Children's Aid as her chosen charities to benefit from the Mayor’s Charity Fund during her term.

The walk follows a 15-mile route from Seacombe to Thurstaston on the Dee and is organised by the Rotary Club of North Wirral.

Cllr McLaughlin, who will be the official starter of the walk on Sunday, said: "Anna is hoping to get the Mayor’s Charity fund off to a flying start by being sponsored as her and some friends and colleagues do the Wirral Coastal Walk. I'll be there to start them off and wish them good luck.

"We are both going to be doing all we can throughout our year to raise as much money as we can for my three chosen charities, the Devonshire Centre of Age UK which provides support for people with dementia and their families, St. John`s Hospice in Wirral, and Wirral Women’s and Children’s Aid."
