A BIRKENHEAD man has appeared for the first time at Liverpool Crown Court charged with the murder of Wirral charity worker Peter Caine.
Mr Caine, 27, died after being stabbed in the chest in Market Street, Birkenhead in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Barry Royle, 28, appeared via video link from Walton prison charged with murder and possessing an offensive weapon in Market Street, Birkenhead.
Royle, of Market Street, Birkenhead, spoke only to confirm his name and that he could hear proceedings.
The Recorder of Liverpool, Judge Henry Globe QC further remanded him in custody to await a preliminary hearing on May 25.
