M53 carriageway closed after driver suffered heart attack
A carriageway of the M53 is closed after a driver suffered a heart attack at the wheel. The accident happened between junctions three and four near Birkenhead at around 11.15am today.
The woman driver, who police say is in her 60s, was taken to Arrowe Park Hospital where she is receiving treatment.
A police investigation is underway and the northbound route will remain closed until around 1.30pm today.
