THE mother of Wirral murder victim Chantel Taylor is to lead a special conference for grieving families.
Jean Taylor, founder of Families Fighting For Justice, has put together the charity’s first conference to give members the chance to come together to support each other.
The event, which is being held at the Liner Hotel on May 18, will feature Merseyside Police Chief Constable Jon Murphy and the charity’s patron Anne Ming.
Jean says she wants to give families of victims of murder, manslaughter and culpable road deaths a voice.
She said: “The voice of the victims’ families should go far above that of the families of the perpetrator. Losing a loved one to an act of homicide leaves you with many issues and questions and there is not enough support out there.
"This conference is going to be an opening of the failings to such families and highlight that we will not give up.
“The people who are put behind bars for these crimes are given the best counselling and psychiatric care while they are in prison. But we get none of that.”
Jean, who lost her sister, son and daughter to acts of homicide, is extending an invite to the conference to families who have lost a loved one in the same way.
She added: “We will keep fighting until justice is done for these families. We will make our voices heard and stand up for what is right.”
