NHS Wirral is launching a survey this week to learn more about the health needs of the borough's gay and lesbian community.
The survey coincides with the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia on May 17.
The review aims to help NHS Wirral to improve health services for the whole population.
Anyone who lives or works in Wirral who is lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender are being encouraged to take part.
Hayley Clifton, public health commissioning manager for NHS Wirral, said: “The lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgendercommunities may be at greater risk of experiencing certain health conditions.
"These risks can be made worse if lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people are subjected to discrimination and abuse or experience other barriers when trying to gain access to our health and care services. “We would like to learn more about this from the Wirral LGBT communities to help further develop and improve health, social care and community services."
She said NHS Wirral is planning to run focus groups to learn more about the issues facing the LGBT communities and what can be done to help.

The survey also can be completed anonymously online from the link below.
