I SHARE the concern expressed by Andrew Shute, regarding cameras at the Mersey Tunnel, to which he draws attention (Mailbox, April 27).
As I comprehend the position, anyone installing such equipment is legally required to appraise the public of its existence and its purpose.
Furthermore, the appratus must include information relating to the organisation by which it has been put in place.
This is for the benefit of any member of the general public who may need to make an enquiry or complaint, regarding its operational functioning.
Derek Jeffery, Heswall.
