I HAVE lived in Birkenhead all my life and went to all the clubs and pubs in the 1980s and 1990s.
I loved the atmosphere and made a lot of friends over the years, but I don't manage to get into Birkenhead much anymore.
It's made me sad to hear all my friends and my sons friends saying how much Birkenhead's clubs and pubs don't get as much trade anymore and some have had to close.
On Friday night I decided to go out into Birkenhead with friends. I went to a well-known nightclub. I put my jacket on the back of my chair and nipped to the bathroom. On my return to my seat, I noticed my leather jacket was missing.
I asked the people sitting behind us and on the next table if they had seen it and searched the floor, but it was obvious by this time it had been stolen.
I am furious. No wonder so many people now avoid the place and I hope the person who took my jacket reads this...shame on you, it's people like you who give our town a bad name.
