FORMER Brookside actor Peter Christian faced Wirral magistrates for drink driving.
Police conducting a security check on the eve of the General Election stopped him in Conway Street, Birkenhead, shortly before 11pm. Drink was detected and a test showed over double the permitted level, said prosecutor Richard Riley.
Christian, aged 49, of Dawpool Cottages, Telegraph Road, Caldy, pleaded guilty. He said he did not set out to drink and drive and was ever so sorry.
Christian played Frank Rogers in the TV soap. He was banned from driving for 18 months and was fined £500 plus £35 costs. He told the court he was currently unemployed.
