NEXT phases of the Hamilton Quarter's plans to create an Antiques Triangle near Hamilton Square are due to start this month.
Councillors got an update at this week's meeting of the economic regeneration sub committee. Objective One funding has been approved for completion of Wirral Museum at Birkenhead Town Hall - work is scheduled to start in the New Year.
Work is also scheduled to start in New Year converting the Pacific Road tram sheds into a transport museum. The trams will have to vacate the sheds next Summer.
A decision is awaited on the public inquiry to demolish the Bridge Street bridge to extend the tramway. Negotiations are now taking place in case the tramway can be extended from Woodside to Conway Park.
Lairdside, says Cammell Laird Group Plc, continues to grow in strength. Refurbishment of Nos 6 and 7 docks is near completion. It is hoped that a senior member of the Government will perform an opening ceremony shortly.
