TWO Wirral Metropolitan College students have won National Marriott Prizes from the Royal Society of Chemistry for their outstanding performance in RSC examinations.

Only a handful of students each year in the UK are awarded a Marriott prize and this is a tribute to the high standards of teaching and student achievement within the Chemistry department at Carlett Park.

Jenny Crombie, 22, from Port Sunlight, won an award for her performance on the LRSC - Licentiateship of the Royal Society of Chemistry course. Jenny is a lab technologist at Lever Brothers.

Paul Dunkerton, 28, from Chester, won an award for his first class honours result at BSc Hons/GRSC level. Paul is a Quality Control Lab Technician at Associated Octel.
