WIRRAL's F1 television anchor man Tony Jardine, with co-driver Bob McKenzie get into gear for this month's RAC Network Q Rally. They will be in car 80, a Ford Escort Cosworth. Brothers Colin (95 World Rally Champion) and Alister (95 Mobil 1 British Rally Champion) are not the only members of the McRae clan taking part in the Network Q RAC Rally.

Their father will be competing against their respective Subaru Impreza and VW Golf work entries. Father Jimmy (five times British Rally champion) makes a surprise entry for his 15 th RAC Rally behind the wheel of a works Hyundai.

Recent RAC Rallies have seen Jimmy taking part in the historic rally which runs the same stages but he ups the ante on his son's starting from Cheltenham on November 23.

Wirral's Tony Jardine, famed for his TV Grand Prix spot, takes part with other Cheshire drivers including Roger Freeman in another Cosworth, Lisa Addy in a Seat Ibiza and Peter Littler in a Wirral made Vauxhall Astra. Dave Ellis drives a similar car.

First off the starter's ram Car 1, Tommi Makkinen in a Mitsubishi followed by Richard Burns in another Mitsubishi and Colin McRae in the 555 Subaru World Rally team car.

And, Chris Wood had a successful return to rallying securing victory in last weekend's North West Stages Rally.
