From George Gerrity:-THE payment of £13 paid by Merseytravel to drivers who detected and confiscate O.A.P.'s bus passes is a criminal misuse of public funds.
One can only presume that Merseytravel make a payment to drivers on the detection of fraudulent use of passes etc.
The cost and responsibility of detecting fraud should be borne by privatised public transport companies and not from public funds.
