From L. Hughes:-I WOULD like to say a big thank you to the lady who came to the rescue of my grandson and his friend at Woodside on October 30th. According to the driver of the 72 Pensby bus their tickets had expired at 4.00pm and could not be used again until 6.00pm, although my grandson said it was not quite 4.00pm when they tried to board the bus.
One kind lady came to their rescue and paid for their fares for them as they had no money on them. Without her help they would have been stranded in Birkenhead for 2hrs. I am indebted to her in ensuring they arrived home safely.
As for the driver I am disgusted that he was prepared to leave two children stranded for two hours for the sake of a few minutes. I hope it never happens to his children.
