From M. Bowen:- I AM actually quite shocked that there is still a planning department on Wirral! Looking at the state of New Brighton the selling off of grassland on the promenade for a housing development is just another case of take the money and run by the councillors.
The Derby site which has been referred to as 'derelict' is far from it, the derelict site is at New Brighton where the old pool area is disused and pubs around it are falling or being burnt down.
We have enough pubs in Wallasey we need planners to provide Wallasey with something to attract people to - not another pub. I would challenge the councillors to monitor the grassed area to realise just how many people use this area.
Why not develop the old New Brighton baths site.
