SMALL business customers will save an average of £51 a year on their electricity bills under new Manweb prices, which came into effect on November 1, 1997.

And Manweb is also pledging a reduction in prices for domestic customers, to be introduced in the New Year by means of a rebate against 1997-98 prices. The good news for both business and domestic sectors underlines Manweb's commitment to providing real value for all its customers.

Manweb has reduced bills for domestic customers by £21 (7.3 per cent or 11.6 per cent taking into account inflation) and for small business customers by £285 (21 per cent or 26.3 per cent taking into account inflation), since the company became part of the ScottishPower group in October, 1995.

Manweb chief executive Charles Berry said: "This is excellent news for our business customers and not just in terms of lower prices. They also have have access to a wider range of services now that Manweb is part of the ScottishPower group.

"We are committed to combining real savings for our customers with continuing improvements in customer service. This commitment will continue into the New Year, and beyond, as the energy markets open up to competition."
