A NEW technologies for learning sub-group has been set up within the Wirral Investment Network (WIN) with the aim of encouraging the development of key skills in Wirral businesses and encouraging the use of new technology.
WIN member Tarmac Construction invited the group to visit its Bromborough offices to see how information technology supports its organisation.
Within a couple of years Tarmac has transformed its internal communications with the use of computers and hopes to achieve a 'paperless office' in the next three-to-five years.
Sub-group chairman Steve Humphries said: "A survey of WIN companies identified great differences in understanding and use of information technology. We intend to share examples of good IT practice between companies to increase our confidence and familiarity and help to create a highly skilled workforce that is capable of competing in a global economy."
WIN is arranging a new technologies seminar early in the New Year for Wirral businesses.
